What Actually Changed

Foxit PDF Editor’s Arabic UI replaces English-only menus with a right-to-left interface, so document review, editing, and navigation follow the reading direction Arabic-speaking users already expect. Menus, toolbars, ribbon commands, and dialog boxes are localized into Modern Standard Arabic on Windows, and the interface layout itself mirrors to right-to-left, not just the text inside it.

That distinction actually matters, because a lot of what gets called localization really just means swapping in translated labels while leaving the underlying layout exactly where it was, still built left to right, so a right-to-left reader ends up navigating a design that was never built with a right-to-left reading direction in mind to begin with. Foxit takes the layout itself and mirrors it too, so the menus and panels genuinely flow in the reading direction Arabic already uses, rather than asking users to adapt to something built the other way around.

Switching to Arabic

Turning on the Arabic interface takes three steps, and the change applies across every menu and tool immediately.

First, open the display language setting from Foxit PDF Editor’s preferences, where Modern Standard Arabic appears alongside the application’s other supported languages. Second, select Arabic from the list and confirm the change. Menus, ribbon commands, and dialogs switch to a right-to-left Modern Standard Arabic layout right away. Third, keep working. Every PDF tool, opening, editing, reviewing, organizing, works exactly as it did before, just presented in the reading order Arabic-speaking users expect.

What This Doesn’t Replace

Foxit PDF Editor already supported right-to-left text before this release, just at a different level. Users could set a right-to-left writing direction on individual text boxes when adding or editing typed content, useful for typing Arabic or other right-to-left script directly into a PDF. That capability is still there, and it’s independent of the new Arabic UI.

The difference is what enhances localization. The per-text-box setting affects content you type into a document. The new Arabic UI affects the application shell around that content, the menus, panels, and controls a user navigates to do the typing in the first place.
