Add and manage connectors

On the Connectors page in the AI Settings dialog box, connectors are listed under “Connected” (if added) and “Not Connected”. You can add and manage connectors from this page.

Preset connectors appear in the “Not Connected” list and typically do not require manual parameter configuration. You just need to click the Connect icon next to a preset connector and grant the required authorizations to connect it.

You can also configure the parameters to manually add connectors from scratch by doing the following:

  1. Click AI Assistant > AI Settings. And in the pop-up AI Settings dialog box, select Connectors in the left navigation to open the Connectors page.

  2. Click the Add button at the top of the page and choose one of the following methods to create a connector. (Tip: Click the three‑dot icon next to the Add button and choose Request Logs to view local activity and diagnostics for connector operations; these logs are automatically cleared when Foxit PDF Editor is closed.)

  • Create New Connectors: Manually enter the required connector details. See also Configure connectors.

  • Import JSON from Clipboard: Quickly populate server details by pasting a valid JSON configuration. This method streamlines setup by auto-filling necessary information based on the structure of the imported JSON.

  • Start from an example: Choose from the pre-configured connector examples. These ready-made setups let you experiment with connectors right away, perfect for testing and exploring integration features.

  1. After a successful connection, the connector will appear under the “Connected” list and in the Connectors menu in the chat box.

  2. (Optional) You can click the three-dot icon next to the connector on the Connectors page and choose an option:

  • Details: View and edit connector settings, disconnect the connector, review available tools, and set permissions for AI Assistant usage.

  • Disconnect: Move the connector to the “Not Connected” list and make its tools unavailable. Reconnect to use it again.

  • Remove: Remove the connector from the Connectors page. Note that preset connectors cannot be removed.
