Fremont, CA, Dec. 09 2009 – Foxit Corporation, a leading provider of solutions for reading, creating, organizing and securing PDF documents, announces the release of the improved firmware 2.0 for its popular eReader device, eSlick.
More Reading Formats Means More Content
In its continuing effort to be the electronic reader of choice, Foxit is expanding eSlick’s support for more reading formats. eSlick customers will now be able to view documents in ePub and eReader (PDB) in addition to previously supported PDF and Text formats.
Open Source Firmware Gives Customers the Freedom to Customize
Foxit was able to launch a new version of its eReader that is not only more powerful and feature-rich than its predecessor, but complies with the licensing requirements of its free software components. "We are pleased to release an innovative version that meets the majority of GPL guidelines and gives customers the freedom to access, modify, and distribute changes to the source code of the new eSlick,” said George Gao, VP Marketing and Sales and Acting Chief Compliance Officer.

All new eSlick devices purchased after Dec 09, 2009 will be preloaded with version 2.0. All current eSlick customers can download version 2.0, free of charge, from the eSlick page on www.foxit.com.
